About the teacher

 

Good morning/afternoon everyone!

My name is Laurence; I’m from the South of France.

 

As a perpetual globetrotter, I have travelled in more than ten countries and I have lived in Canada, Ireland, Spain, Italy and the Republic of Maldives!

 

Apart from traveling, I like teaching, cooking and I’m very keen on scuba diving.

 

If my available hours are not convenient for you, please specify what time would suit better, and I may be able to adjust my timetable to yours.

Qualifications & Experience

 

* I have a Degree in Applied Languages and Translation Studies (French-English-Spanish) and a Teaching Master’s Degree.

 

* I also hold a DELF corrector certificate, so if you need to practice for this exam I will be happy to help you.

 

So far, I have taught French as a foreign language in three different countries.

I have taught in several international schools, in two " Alliances Françaises" and at the French Institute of Florence (Italy).

 

 

 

Teaching Approach

 

A trial class is offered to each of my students !

This allows me to meet them, evaluate their French level and define a program.

 

I adjust my classes to each student’s needs and make my teaching material varied so that the learning process remains interesting and interactive throughout.

I also adjust my teaching methods to the student’s age whether they are children, teenagers or adults.

I often use genuine documents such as French newspapers, TV documentaries, advertisements or novel extracts…

I like to play games and sing songs to teach French, especially with the youngest learners.

 

On demand, I’m happy to introduce everyday life elements into our French sessions. This will help make my learners feel as though they are immersed in the French language. For example, if you feel like cooking a French recipe during one of our classes we can do this together… In French!

 

 

It is my aim that all my students progress in a fun and enjoyable atmosphere.
